Laura Olvera oversees all aspects of AHC’s education and counseling services, and has the responsibility of educating and empowering homebuyers (from the general community as well as those using AHC Real Estate Services) and homeowners seeking to prevent foreclosure.  Laura joined AHC in 2004 as the Homebuyer Program Administrator, providing processing and underwriting for households using AHC loan programs.  She received her certification as a Housing Counselor and Educator in 2006, simultaneously expanding her skill set to foreclosure prevention counseling.  During her tenure with AHC, Laura has originated nearly 1,100 loans, educated more than 2,000 households and counseled an estimated 900 families. Her dual understanding of loan administration and consumer empowerment, along with her exceptional relationship-building and leadership skills, uniquely qualify her to serve in her current position. Her education encompasses nearly 300 hours of training from groups such as NeighborWorks and HUD. Prior to joining AHC, Laura worked for Washington Mutual as a Loan Servicer for 3 years, and in collections for 4 years.
